The Secret Sauce to turn “New Customers” into “Repeat Customers” & “Repeat Customers” into “Super Customers”…
So you want to know how to give your business a little jolt?
Last week, I was at one of my favorite local restaurants having lunch and I noticed no signup forms to collect customer emails. NO!
A few days ago, I went in to one of the local Chinese foot message spas that seem to be popping up at every block, and no one asked me for my email address or to join their mailing list. NO!
Yesterday, I went in to get my haircut and guess what? My barber was not collecting customer emails either. NO! NO! NO!
DO THESE LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS NOT KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF EMAIL MARKETING OR ARE THEY JUST PLAIN IGNORING THIS MOVEMENT ALL TOGETHER?
Email Marketing is not a new fashion or a trendy social media outlet that you may consider using or joining- it is a movement, a movement that cannot be ignored and must be utilized for optimum business success. All businesses should try to collect the email addresses of anyone walking in their door. Your email list is going to be a huge asset to your business now and more than ever in the future.
You can increase frequency of customer visits and transactions by using Email Marketing properly and embark on converting one time visits into recurring revenue.
Let’s look at a Hair Salon as an example.
Once an email address is collected, you could set up an “autoresponder”, a series of emails to go out at different time intervals, in order to welcome and start building relationships of respect and trust with your subscribers.
The day after the initial visit in salon, you can send your subscriber a simple “Welcome” message. Then a few days or a week later, send them a little informational email regarding a rejuvenating hair treatment or a hot new trend in beauty, or even just plain check in and see how they’re doing (not so salesy). About 10 days later you can try emailing them a coupon or a great discount incentive for them to come in that week or month towards a salon service.
After the autoresponder series, you could also sit down with a calendar in hand and mark off the important dates in the months and year ahead and what email communications you plan to send, so that your business is always in the now and that your campaigns are relevant and valuable.
Start collecting to email addresses NOW, if you haven’t already.
